Is finding the cheapest airfare the most important thing on your list? Are you willing to settle for fewer frills and have a clear idea of what you need and what you don’t? Prioritizing your needs and preferences is the first step before you go ‘cheap airfare hunting’ and will help you compare and weigh options as well as know which tradeoffs you are willing to make more easily.

2. Select a multi stop flight

One of the easiest ways to get the cheapest airfare is selecting a multi stop flight. Airlines often offer lower fares for flights with multiple stopovers or connecting flights. If you are ok with stopping at several places before reaching your destination, then these flights can be a great way to cut down your travel expenses.

3. Timing your booking

If you plan to travel during peak vacation or peak travel periods, then planning your trip and booking early can help you save significantly. Most airfares generally become more expensive in the last few days before the travel date, so booking tickets early help during such periods.

On the other hand, sometimes booking last minute too can actually save you money. This typically happens when airlines are flying below their seated capacity and thus offer last minute deals to lure travelers and fill up their flights.

4. Shop around and compare airfare deals

There are a number of aggregator sites like http://www.cfares.com that allow you to search and compare cheap flights and exclusive deals across all sources including airlines, wholesalers, online travel agency sites and search engines and let you book tickets directly. A number of budget airlines that offer really cheap airfare and that are usually less accessible can be found through such sites.

7 Tips You Must Know Before Buying Cheap Airfares Online

It is a problem that most air travellers face – how and where to buy those cheap airfares online and what are the benefits in savings and drawbacks compared to buying the cheap airfares from the travel agent down the road.

If you travel by air, you would already know that airfares cost typically forms the dominant chunk of your travel bill be it leisure or holiday. And the savings can add up a lot i.e. if you know where to really get those cheap airfares.

But in the current world where there are a proliferation of travel agencies, sites and even airlines themselves advertising all sort of cheap airfares, if you buy those airfares online yourself and cut out the middlemen, the travel agents, then things could get confusing fast.

Without some guidance and understanding of how one of the world’s largest industry works (air travel), travellers are likely to find themselves short-changed for the more expensive airfares tickets or buying something they may not need that had already been built into the airfare prices.

Of course, every traveller would love it if they could just get those cheapest airfares or at least bragged to their relatives or friends how they managed to get those cheap airfares at 30%-50% cheaper than the next guy sitting on the plane. Is this possible actually?

Yes, you can do all these online yourselves but here are 7 important tips you have to know before buying those airfares online or searching for the best cheap airfare deal:

1) Know your priority first.

If cheap airfare price is everything and you can settle for some minor restrictions, then you are always better to go for the cheap consolidators’ airfares rather than that of the airlines’ own published airfares themselves.

On domestic US routes, some of the big online air travel consolidators you could check out are Onetravel.com, Hotwire.com, Priceline.com, etc.

On the other hand, if airfare price is not your top consideration (for example, you have this worry about foreign airlines reliability or security), you should then monitor your favourite airline’s own cheap airfare sales, which they have periodically every two to three months.

Or try to look for a complete package tour (which is likely cheaper in airfare ticket prices than just buying the airfare ticket alone) from the big published Internet travel agencies like Travelocity.com, Expedia.com, etc.

2) Do not waste time checking sites which have the same sources of cheap airfares.

For example, these sites may rely on the same computerised reservation system (CSR) that gives you options from the same set of published air fares.

There are less than 8 major CSR systems in the industry (you can check the sites on which CSRs are they using or ask their customer help desk) and it is better if you get your options from most or all of them to get the cheapest airfares.

Note that some sites may just be a portal or gateways to other main sites so it will be a waste of time to check your options on these sites together for your cheap airfare search.

3) Get the full itineraries available

Remember that airfare pricing are determined by a variety of factors such as dates, seating, routes (direct flights, stopovers or connecting flights for example), and their rules for cancellations, refunds or changes to the tickets.

You may find that the cheapest airfare tickets tend to have a lot of restrictions that may not be suitable to you.

For example, if you are on a rushed vacation where there are too many stopovers or connecting flights, these are likely to eat into your vacation time. Always check the fine prints before paying for any cheap airfares as there are tradeoffs to be made.

4) Always book and pay quickly on a good deal

Do not waste your time searching endlessly for the best cheap airfares deal. They don’t likely exist as airfare pricing are determined by many things as noted from above and the cheapest airfare tickets may not be suitable after all for your requirements.

If you do see a good cheap airfare deal, book and pay for it quickly.

Airlines typically may offer a few crash-down cheap airfare deals to pull in demands on limited seat availability and what you see in the advertisements may not be available to you in a few days or even the next hour unless you book and pay for those cheap seats quickly.

Keeping an eye open and putting yourself on the e-mail list of notifications by the airlines or travel agencies are a good way of spotting these cheap airfare deals.

5) There is no magical place or site to look, just the best comparison

Despite what some may claim, there are no one airline or travel site that will offer you the best available cheap airfare deal as it all depends on your requirements and travel preferences.

There are actually thousands of permutations of flights routes, prices, type of flights, seatings, timing, etc for any possible trip especially for those long-distance, lengthy, round-the-world (RTW)trips.

Hence, it is always wise to do comparison between airlines or travel agencies at all time for their cheap airfare claims or offers. Of course, just do not be a cheap airfare fanatic until you miss the forest for the trees.

6) Never assume anything on cheap airfares

The best advice is never to assume anything on the airfares that you have to pay as what is cheap could be obscured by hidden charges.

Make sure that the net cheap airfare price you have to pay have factored in other charges like airport taxes, surcharges, agencies charges, etc. before you pay or make a like-for-like comparison with other sites.

Also never assume that online airfare prices will be cheaper. Always check offline for example with the consolidators’ cheap airfares.

Also never assume that those cheapest airfares flight search function on any travel websites will actually get you the ever lowest discount fares.

They won’t as search robots are actually not exactly built that way and are quite rigid. For example, they may not disclose another cheaper airfare alternative say if you vary your destination or stopover a little bit, which brings us to a last point.

7) You need to invest some patience and efforts

Ultimately, to find those bargain cheap airfares, you still need to invest the time and effort to find them.

There are always different sites, tactics and sources to find the best possible cheap airfares (note not necessarily the cheapest) for any trips.

If you are unable to do so yourself, you could still find a trustworthy and reliable travel agent to search out those cheap airfare options for you for a small fee.

Just be sure that you ask all the relevant questions in this case as some agents may not likely be as helpful as you want them to be, to search for the lowest airfares or best itineraries for you.

In the end still, nothing beats a little time and effort to plan your trip yourself and get the best out of it at the least cost.

It is a known fact that if the basics or the fundamentals of flying are not clear then it could gravely affect the performance of a pilot in the later stages of pilot training. As a commercial airline pilot the individual has the added responsibility of other passengers who are on board and thus it is vital to possess quality education on aviation. Usually the start-up CPL course lasts a few months and in this period a lot of emphasis is laid on theory and flight instructors take added measures in detailing all the elements of aviation. For students aspiring to be pilot the start-up CPL course is a significant step and introduces them to the incredible world of aviation.

Here is another important tip. Do not buy your tickets from tours packages or even from internet travel agencies. The most important thing to do is to buy your tickets directly from the airline website or office. This will really save you a lot of money. 9 Tips on How I Go to Disney World on a Shoestring Budget

What you are about to read

… will save you loads of money !

Many families get quite a shock when they calculate what it will cost them to have a Walt Disney World holiday.

You’ll need flights, accommodation, car hire/driving costs, food, passes to Walt Disney World (they are expensive – children are classed as ages 3-9 years old and costs not much less than adult prices), entertainment, and more…

I am going to show you how to have a budget-wise Disney holiday.

Tip # 1. Do it Yourself

Book your Disney World vacation online.

You will find the cheapest rates by booking each component separately yourself – air, accommodation, car hire and even theme park tickets.

You can book way in advance and still get the same savings as if you had booked last minute. The difference is that booking last minute can cause you stress. So Relax !

Take your own food and drink. If you’re taking a charter flight, you can pay far more than you want to pay for in-flight food and drinks. You might not even enjoy it.

Tip # 2. Rent Orlando Villas  direct from the owner.

Stay in a privately owned villa or vacation rental home within 20 minutes drive of Walt Disney World.

People in Europe have been holidaying in private villas for years. Many Europeans and North Americans now own villas in Orlando all within 20 minutes drive of Disney.

These privately owned homes belong to families just like yourselves. Because these families vacation in their homes as well, they are fully equipped with everything that you could hope for.

The price you pay is where the bargain comes in if you book directly from the owner of the property. Vacation homes near Disney  can start from as little as to less than 0 per night for a whole family sized house. Price often depends on the season and quality, level of privacy and amenities of the villa that you want.

Your whole family could have room to themselves instead of cramming together in the same hotel bedroom.

Plus, you can have lounge, private pool, spa, game room, full kitchens and much more than I can mention here.

To make your holiday even cheaper, split the cost of your villa with another family.

Orlando has many huge villas that can sleep 2-3 families. Many have multiple master bedrooms. So each family can have a master bedroom and extra bedrooms for the rest of the family. They also have multiple bathrooms and multiple living/dining areas.

So if you don’t mind sharing with friends or family you could save even more money on accommodation.

Sign up for newsletters on Orlando vacation rentals websites. That way you can keep abreast of special deals available.

Look out for last minute deals from private villa owners.

Once you rent a private villa you won’t want to ever use a hotel again.

Tip # 3. Go Off Season

Prices plummet when the kids are back at school! You save more than 50% on flights, and at low season, Orlando vacation rentals are much cheaper.

Flights:

You would be amazed how much you can save in airline tickets if you go low season, especially if your family is large.

Sign up to newsletters with your favorite airlines to hear about the best flight deals first.

Seize the specials by looking out for bargain flight offers in good time.

Many websites specialize in finding air fare deals. Use farefinders. These are websites that search for cheap airfares.

Look out for newspapers that offer flight discounts that involve collecting tokens. Some have ‘buy one get on free deals’ on flights at specific times of the year.

Don’t fly at weekends if there are surcharges.

But, who wants to go to Walt Disney World when kids are Back at school?

If you are a bargain hunting holiday-maker, you might consider it if you realize the savings you could have.

Tip # 4. Spend Less on Your Family’s Food

Food is expensive in the theme parks without a doubt.

You can eat meals in your Florida Villa and save money. You get a fully equipped full-size kitchen. You don’t have to cook. You can fill the refrigerator with food from the Supermarket.

Bring snacks and drinks with you from your villa, to the Disney Parks, especially on hot and humid days when your kids need to drink lots of liquids all day long. Freeze drinks in a drinks cooler and take them with you frozen.

You and your family can return to your villa for lunch and a rest and go back to the Theme Parks refreshed and fed.

If you drive from home to your holiday villa, shop before you go. Bring your favorite items from home.

Have breakfast at restaurants that allow kids to eat free. They advertise this in their windows.

Look out for restaurants offering free kid’s meals.

Pick up money saving booklets from the local Supermarket. They are loaded with money saving coupons.

Look out for coupons that save you money at full service restaurants as well as your fast food chains like McDonalds.

You can find some good deals at Walt Disney World if you choose carefully. A family of four can easily spend for little more than a snack.

A better option is for you to splash out once or twice in the Disney World ‘Parks on the ‘all you can eat character meals’ or on ‘fun themed restaurants’. This can make your holiday even more memorable and make for good photo opportunities.

Popular buffet restaurants with fairly good prices include character breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table, and the Polynesian Resort’s dinners where food is cooked at a firepit, games are played with the kids, and food is brought to your table time and time again. The Boma restaurant at Animal Kingdom Lodge has a huge selection.

Also, for a bit more than , you and your family could eat a full buffet at a fun restaurant such as the Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom, which has Winnie the Pooh and his pals in attendance.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets are – per person. Kids have their own meal choices, plus a make your own sundae bar. There is a good selection for parents and your glass of drinks will be refilled to your content.

Tip # 5. Save money on Theme Park Tickets and General Entertainment

It’s always wise to spend some time developing an itinerary before you buy your Theme Park tickets, because the right passes for you depend on how you plan to spend your days.

Be sure to check all your options. You may be overlooking a special deal for which you qualify, such as Florida resident, military/civil service, and corporate discounts.

There are lots of legitimate ways to get discounted Walt Disney World passes.

Unfortunately, there are also lots of places where you can get ripped off.

So be very careful.

The WalMart at 4444 W. Vine in Kissimmee, has a travel agency called Wal-Mart Vacations that sells discounted Disney World tickets. The prices are discounted about 5%. But, they may not carry every type of ticket.

Pick up a money saving coupons booklet from the local supermarket. It is not just for food.

There are also money saving coupons in those booklets for admission discounts to places like Universal Orlando, Sea World, Busch Gardens and more.

Some popular events are also promoted at times such as Disney on Ice, “buy one get one” coupon.

You can even save money on adventures like go-cart racing, with free ‘buy one get one free coupons’.

Tip # 6. Free Admissions at Disney!

Visit Disney’s resort hotels (for example when you dine at Boma), but you do not have to dine.

Tour the grounds, marvel at the gardens and architecture, listen to the music, and mingle with the cast members.

If you do dine make sure you give yourself a lot of time before dinner, so that you have plenty of time to savor the sights in daylight.

Tip # 7. Car Hire Savings

Look out for car rental savings from almost all of the national car hire companies.

Tip # 8. Airport Parking

Book your airport parking in advance. It is much more expensive on the day.

Check your car insurance or roadside assistance membership for special offers on airport parking.

Some airport hotels offer one night pre-flight stays that include holiday parking.

Look out for other parking offers.

Book your cab/minivan in advance. Negotiate a deal with the driver to pick you up on return as you are giving them double business.

Tip # 9. Buy Low Cost Travel Insurance

Compare prices and make sure that it has what you need. If you’re going away more than once in the year consider an annual policy.

I always save loads of money whenever I go to Disney, and I still have a Disney holiday in luxury and style… you can too!
