Ten Top Reasons Why a Business Should Be Using Conferencing Services

Article by Eric Blaier

1. It completely eliminates geographic disparityThis can apply to anybody doing business anywhere. You can instantly meet with people in your organization, partners, clients, or prospective customers. With products like Reservationless 800 Conferencing, you can e-mail, text or IM a number and access code from your Blackberry or other PDA and participants can join instantly. The proximity to a geographically separated client base becomes instantaneous. 2. It improves productivity in research and developmentThis applies to persons heading R&D in IT, biotech, physical science, product development, marketing, or any other area. The widespread introduction of conferencing and collaboration tools over the past few years has helped organizations better improve research and development among team members. For instance, web conferencing software has allowed company employees in separate locations to collaborate on projects in real-time, greatly boosting operational efficiency. Countless organizations have benefited from this technology and seen time-to-market improve, resulting in competitive advantages not enjoyed before, reduced R&D costs, and quicker ROI.3. It improves investor relationsThis applies to any and all CFO’s and CIO’s. All public companies are scrutinized in their quarterly conference call and earnings report. When the call does not go seamlessly, it makes a negative impression on the operational aptitude of the company giving the presentation. Investors think, “What type of company has an error-prone conference call?”The unfortunate reality is that some companies do botch the investor call, whether having not enough seats/bridges open or a complete lack of moderation/order. Often, they utilize products not geared for such large audiences and/or products that don’t support the unique needs of such an important call. The top conferencing providers have solutions geared toward investor and enterprise-level calls, and a wide variety of solutions exist to accommodate such needs and eliminate highly-visible public disasters.4. It boosts salesThis applies to any sales VP’s, Regional Directors, or Area Managers. Any company with multiple offices needs to have management tools in place to meet with the branch subordinates on a regular basis. As a former sales manager, I learned the mantra “inspect what you expect” very early in my career. Having regularly scheduled calls with subordinates will help prepare the organization better and teach a culture of being prepared and organized. It will also keep senior management informed on the sales activities as they are happening, instead of hearing about things in retrospect. This allows the senior sales executive the chance to act on accounts before they are possibly lost, like stepping in and offering better pricing, terms, or service level guarantees. The best organization leaders I have ever worked for personally made it a point to keep in regular contact with the field sales organization, and it showed in the results.

5. It improves corporate communicationThis applies and directly affects everybody in an organization. Have you ever worked in an organization where you felt like the corporate office was a world away? Perhaps you do now, as I did at one time. The biggest difference between companies that grow successfully and those that do not is not being like-minded in goals and spirit across the organization. The most successful companies (like Google) convey a sense of togetherness and corporate culture that is inspired from a set of values, such as “thought leadership”, “customer-centric”, “caring”, etc….. The organizations that keep their main cultural values at the forefront do so by regularly communicating with their remote and regional offices. Audio conferencing and web conferencing are two of the simple ways to accomplish this high priority.6. It speeds training and educationThis applies to any C-Level who has a training requirement in their company. Organizations spend a lot of money getting new employees trained on company and industry information, internal procedures policies and methodologies. Many industries, such as education, legal, real estate, technology, manufacturing, and accounting, have initiatives that require constant training in order to maintain current standards in the respective industry. Audio and web conferencing are the dominant training tools to accomplish any organization’s e-learning initiative. Companies that utilize this technology save thousands, sometimes hundreds of thousands, in hard-dollars savings from travel, accommodations, meals and gratuities, and air-fare. The often-overlooked aspect of savings in using conferencing products for e-learning is that it is a definite boost in productivity. Instead of losing several hours (at best) with flight time, your employee is able to return to work instantly. The company that utilizes these communications tools effectively trains their workforce more efficiently, save money, and boost productivity at the same time.7. It improves your internal marketing initiativeThis applies to Chief Marketing Officers and VP’s of Sales. Companies that can roll out new products in unison to a geographically disparate workforce have a greater chance of success. The ability to introduce new offerings in a clear, concise manner and in a positive fashion can boost sales’ attitudes about the new product or direction. In addition, the marketing message is the most important differentiator in our highly competitive society. The roll-out is the marketing organization’s best time to convey those vitally important differentiators to the internal sales team as most buyers want to know “what is in it for me”. Differentiators bridge that gap to the prospect and help the sales team close deals.8. It improves the external marketing initiativeThis applies to the direct and indirect field sales force and client retention specialists/account managers. Similar to the internal benefits listed above, the same benefits apply to external customers. When you roll out new products or services, it is easier to demonstrate it in a clear and concise manner. Audio and web conferencing solutions let a sales force introduce new offerings easily without geographic limitation. Retention and service personnel within a company can use the same conferencing and collaboration tools to introduce new products, conduct account reviews, and keep connected with vital decision-makers in an organization. Since sales is all about relationships, keeping those relationships active is vital to protect your customer base and maintaining contact with the most important positions is the key.And for companies relying on an indirect channel, frequent communication is of paramount importance when driving productivity. Effective presentation done in an entertaining way is the best method to get your channel partners pushing your product and not your competitors.9. It offers mobile proximityThis applies to anybody with a PDA or cell phone. While it is true that cell phones often can cause a lot of static when they participate in audio conferences, sometimes the urgency of the call overtakes the immediate need for everything to be 100%. Most conferencing providers today offer mobile solutions that allow web features to be accessed from PDA’s, so that you don’t miss any aspect of the call that is taking place at that moment.10. It will save your company money, boost productivity and is good for the environmentThis benefits everybody. Whether you measure by hard dollar savings in travel, meals, accommodations, entertainment, or soft dollar savings in areas like boosted productivity, increased sales, and better messaging, your organization will save money. Further, it will help to lessen the carbon footprint that is of such great concern these days. Instead of consuming more fuel, conferencing adopters are making a socially-responsible decision that lessens the impact on the environment.

Less travel = less fuel = better for the environment. So with these 10 reasons, you may be able to see other applications for a conferencing solution and how it could positively impact your organization.

The benefits of using an air courier services

An air courier refers to a person who has been hired for transportation of specific items from one place to another, within a specified time-period. The material that you need to transport varies a lot. It could range from legal documents like business contracts or letters, medicines, computer disks, reports to product prototypes and many more. The presence of instant gratification mindset has made us accustomed to communication and information which travels at a speed faster than that of light. Therefore, there is a high demand for these services.

Traveling as an air courier helps in getting cheap air-fare by giving up majority of your luggage allowances. In general, you need to organize before time. However, last minute deals are also available. Besides this, the companies providing such services need to ensure that the package is not only delivered on time but also reaches the recipient as early as possible.

Since a few companies possess the resources for employing full-time couriers, the industry in itself relies on freelance air couriers. This proves to be a more cost-effective approach despite the need to pay for the person’s air-travel. Despite providing for the cost of air-travel, the return on investment is better as compared to payment of full-time wages, insurance, sick-pay, holiday as well as other costs.

Courier companies are paid for timely delivery of things. Often, time is extremely important for business documents, spare parts for an emergency repair etc. Likewise, large companies have planes flying on certain routes. However, for other routes as well as small companies there could be a problem. If the items are sent through air freight, it might take many days to go through customs and unloading. Therefore, sending luggage helps in dealing with it in a fast way. Moreover, airline regulations do not allow companies to send unaccompanied luggage. This is where the need for such an individual arises.

Generally, courier companies book seats on important flights. Economy class is present in majority of airlines. Moreover, the airlines provide seats to these companies at discounted price. The person who travels as a courier occupies the seat at discount. All he/she is required to do is take the delivery and hand over the material.

Travel Around the World by Using Herbs and Spices

If you would like to travel but don’t have the time or money, you can still enjoy elements of the location you would like to visit in your food by using herbs and spices. You may have already been to a fantastic place and simply want to eat something that reminds you of how great your trip was or the fun time you had with a friend. Certain herbs and spices can help you recall or envision a special experience. So even if you can’t afford a plane ticket or time to take a train trip across Europe, you can still eat as if you are in the country of your choosing.

If you have been to the Southern United States, you may be a fan of spicy Cajun food. Using herbs and spices to jazz up your jambalaya is something a lot of people look forward to when they shop for the necessary ingredients. Just put a pot of this yummy, spicy food on the burner and fry up a few crawfish and you are mentally transported to the South. Try looking online for good recipes or watching some of the great cooking shows on television or on the internet for other great Southern recipes.

If you want to feel like you are in Mexico, just add some cilantro to your beef or vegetable dishes, or some chili spice to just about anything. Cilantro is very pungent and makes a great complement to salsas and popular Mexican dishes. Chili spice makes a fantastic, unique twist on the taste and texture of certain candy and fruits. Just slice up some grapefruit, kiwi, and watermelon and sprinkle it on to add a bit of kick. Dessert-wise, you will often see chili spice and chocolate combined for delicious results. Chocolate bars infused with chili spice have become very popular the last few years in some grocery stores.

Using herbs and spices like lemon grass and mint can make you feel like you are enjoying a wonderful vacation somewhere in Asia. These herbs and spices like turmeric and cumin are common and important ingredients in Thai and Indian food. You could look up some easy but tasty recipes with an Asian theme and cook a meal for you and your friends and pretend you are all vacationing together. Set your table with chopsticks and decorate with other cultural elements to complete the Asian ambience you want.

A Guide to Buying and Using Car Travel Insurance

Is Travel Car  Insurance Really Necessary?

Travel is already expensive enough, isn’t it? The cost of air fare, cruises, hotels, ground transportation, food and activities and entertainment are already high enough. I don’t know about you, but I work hard for my money, and when I travel, I want to keep as much of my money in MY pocket as possible. Is travel insurance a necessity or a luxury? Why not cut a few corners here and there. Why buy something if it’s not really needed?

My personal answer is, of course, that I am not independently wealthy and can’t withstand the potential financial losses I would incur if I require medical care while I’m traveling. Not being independently wealthy also means that I’m in the market for adequate but cheap travel insurance. I suspect that you are in the same position, so you, too need cheap travel insurance. If you’re still not sure about that, consider the following.

Did you know that if you get sick or are injured while traveling abroad, your medical plan may not cover all the expenses you will incur? If the costs of treatment are higher than the maximums of your medical plan, you will be responsible for the difference, unless you have already purchased travel insurance. In fact, you may not even be admitted into hospitals in some countries without proof that you have health or medical insurance. Learn more about travel health insurance by reading Travel Health Care and Car Insurance Plans article.

This is true for everyone, regardless of age or length of time abroad. Suppose you fall ill just a few hours after arriving at your destination. Or suppose you make a day-trip to another country, and you are injured in a traffic accident. Or suppose one of your children is part of a group making a class visit abroad, gets food poisoning and requires hospitalization. In all cases, without adequate travel health insurance, you will be responsible for the costs above and beyond the limitations of your existing medical plan.

Therefore, before going abroad, you need to make sure that you are adequately covered by travel medical insurance that won’t break your budget. You should check to see if appropriate coverage is already available to you through your medical plan, employee benefits, or even through a credit card. If the coverage is sufficient for your needs, then you can enjoy your trip without incurring the extra expense of travel insurance. However, if you are not sure of your coverage, or if your coverage is inadequate or non-existent, then your next step should be to research and purchase the travel insurance coverage you need.

How Much Can You Expect To Pay?

When I bought my first plane ticket to China a few years ago it cost around $2000 round-trip, and my travel insurance cost me over $500 because I didn’t shop around for cheap travel insurance online. A few years later, a little bit older and wiser, and my travel insurance for another trip to China cost me much less–about $300 for roughly the same coverage. The difference? Before buying my travel insurance for the second trip, I shopped around online and got the coverage I needed, at the right price. If I’d have purchased my travel insurance for this latest trip from my travel agent, it would’ve cost me about $600 for the trip, and my plane tickets only cost $1,500! Not exactly the smart way to go.

So how much will it cost you? Not as much money as it will cost you if you get sick or injured abroad and you don’t have any travel insurance coverage! That’s the obvious answer to the question. In fact, how much travel insurance costs will depend on your age and the type of coverage you choose. Basic policies cost as little as $5.50 USD per $1000 of coverage. On the other hand, you can expect a full coverage policy to cost you from 7 to 10% of the cost of your trip, depending on your age. The older you are, the more you will pay. No matter what the cost of the policy, however, it’s sure to be much less than the cost of medical evacuation! The good news is that you can easily, conveniently and quickly research and locate excellent but cheap online travel insurance and reduce the costs while making an informed purchase. This is much better than taking what you are offered at the travel agency because you can choose from hundreds of travel insurance companies and polices and save yourself a lot of money in the process.

What You Should Consider When Buying Travel Car Insurance

To assist you in your research, here are some suggestions to help you make an informed purchase.

1. Consider the worst-case scenario. If you can financially withstand the worst-case scenario then maybe you don’t need travel insurance or maybe you don’t need a comprehensive policy.

2. Make sure the policy you are considering provides adequate medical/dental coverage, including medical evacuation coverage just in case you need medical care in a place where the best treatment available is below the standards you are accustomed to in your country. This can happen if you fall ill in a developing country or even on a cruise ship.

3. Check your existing insurance policies for possible coverage. There is no sense in paying more for what you already have in your homeowner or tenant policy, such as theft and loss coverage.

4. If you are a frequent traveler, you should consider annual or year-round travel insurance policies. Sometimes they are called multi-trip travel insurance policies. Whatever the name, these policies can be relatively cheap when compared to single-trip travel insurance policies.

5. Know what you are buying, so read the fine print. Make sure that you understand what the company considers to be a legitimate reason for cancellation or interruption. If the list is too restrictive, maybe you should consider another policy.

6. Don’t restrict yourself to buying only from your travel agent. He/She will probably only have one company’s product(s) available, and it’s there for your convenience, but that convenience can be quite costly!

7. Ask lots of questions about the coverage. Play the “what if” game. Ask for clear explanations of terminology. Make sure that you and the travel insurance company are speaking the same language.

8. Don’t buy the insurance through your transportation provider. If the airline goes bankrupt, how adequate will your insurance coverage be?

Once You’ve Bought Your Car Travel Insurance

Remember that your travel insurance policy covers you between certain specific dates, so don’t start your trip early or extend your trip without first changing the dates of coverage on your travel insurance policy. Of course, this might cost you extra, but that’s cheaper than finding yourself without coverage when you need it the most. Also, it almost goes without saying that you should bring your travel insurance policy with you when you go abroad. You can’t consult the policy if it’s sitting on your desk at home. You should also carry your travel insurance company’s toll-free assistance phone number and other contact information with you wherever you go. It does you no good if you get ill or hurt and the necessary policy information is sitting in your hotel room. It’s also a good idea to bring your regular medical coverage cards and info with you.

I hope these tips will help you by the best travel insurance for you. Then take your trip with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that you are insured by the right travel insurance policy at the right price. Bon voyage!

Planning your Trip using Travel Tips

No matter where you’re traveling or whether you’re traveling by car, plane, or train, you’ll want to make sure that you arrive there with everything that you need. You’ll also want to save as much money as you can in getting there. If you’re flying there are several ways that you can save money on your flights. A charter flight is often your best bet for getting to your destination cheaply. The reason that charter flights let you travel for less than other flights is that you fly on the days that they have flights scheduled. The only drawback is that many charter companies will cancel any of the flights that aren’t filled enough. This means that you can find yourself without a flight at the last minute. If you’re going to be booking your flight with a charter company, make sure that you find out what happens if the flight you have booked needs to be rescheduled.

When you’re planning your trip with some time to spare before you book your flight you should do a little comparison shopping on the Internet. By looking around at the prices offered by different airline companies you may be able to get a deal for your flights that you can’t find anywhere else. Many airline discounters can put you on a watch list so that you’ll be notified when there is a low price available for a flight to your destination.

Courier flights are another way that you might consider flying. These freight flights travel regularly and are generally always on time. The only drawback is that you’ll only be able to take one piece of carry-on luggage. If you’re planning on traveling for awhile you may want to consider a regular flight, but if you don’t mind traveling with a small amount of luggage this might be a good alternative choice. Traveling by plane doesn’t always mean that you have to pay a high price. By following these tips and looking around you can find yourself on a plane for a very low cost.
